One of the top Canadian seniors in NCAA basketball could be heading to the WNBA.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish wing Cassadre Prosper announced via social media on Monday that she'll be declaring for the 2026 WNBA Draft.
"What a beautiful journey it has been," Prosper said in her Instagram post. Watching myself grow these past years has been the most rewarding process. This has been an incredible experience in my life, and it is such a blessing to have the awareness to know when I am ready for a new chapter. I couldn't be more proud of the woman I've become."
Prosper, who was born in Montreal and played high school hoops in Ottawa, blossomed into a versatile player for Notre Dame in her senior season.
She averaged 13.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks in 33.2 minutes per game this past campaign, en route to being named the ACC's most improved player.
"She runs through a wall for me. She runs through a wall for this team," Notre Dame coach Niele Ivey said of Prosper ahead of the Sweet 16 this year. "She plays every position that you can play on the court, as far as defensively. Offensively, she's worked on every aspect of her game. But for me, she's a pro. She knows — she's very, very business-oriented and she just does whatever this team needs."
The six-foot-three wing spent all four of her collegiate seasons in South Bend with the Irish, helping guide them to three Sweet 16 appearances and an Elite Eight spot this year.
She is the sister of Memphis Grizzlies forward and third-year NBA player Olivier-Maxence Prosper.
